Hypnosis Script for Healing the Inner Child – Burnout Recovery

POWERFUL Deep Sleep Hypnosis for Inner Child Healing, Burnout, Anxiety & Emotional Wounds

Note: There may be some typos as this is the original rough draft. Some sections may not 100% align with the recorded session available on YouTube as I often make changes if it feels right during the recording. This script uses a similar framework from Night 6 (Session 6) from the 7 Nights of Healing Program, which will be released mid-June 2025 to my public audience/clients.

Main intentions for this session:

  • Create a safe, nurturing space
  • Release emotional exhaustion and chronic stress
  • Reconnect with the inner child
  • Transform self-limiting beliefs and survival patterns (over giving, perfectionism)
  • Provide a medium for Cathartic Release*
  • Activate parasympathetic nervous system (breath and body induction)
  • Reframe inner narrative using principles from logotherapy/narrative therapy
  • Integrate fragmented parts of the self (via passive Imagery in Cathedral)
  • Embed positive post-hypnotic suggestions (self-compassion/purpose/resilience)

Concepts I really want to incorporate themes from 7 Nights of Healing:

“Safe to Feel. Safe to Heal.”

“Release the tension you’ve held since childhood.”

“Emotional relief for the overthinker, the overwhelmed, the exhausted.”

“Reconnect to the part of you that needed more love and give it now.”

Ruins of the cathedral one last time: you gather the shattered pieces of stained glass from that crumbling cathedral of your old self. Piece by piece, you create anew stained-glass window. When you lift it up, the rising sun (hinting at the coming dawn of Night 7) shines through, and all those jagged pieces project a brilliant mosaic of colors.

Right now, you might feel worn down…like you’ve been running on empty…and maybe you’re still blaming yourself for feeling tired…But what if this burnout didn’t begin with your job, or your never-ending to-do list?

What if it started in childhood…when you learned to earn love by overgiving…to find safety in staying small…
to feel valuable only when you were useful? And what if, just by passively engaging with this recording, you could begin the deep, sacred process of inner healing?

The recording you are about to listen to can be extremely powerful, incorporating sensory imagery, positive suggestion, and neurolinguistic programming that can create the perfect conditions within mind and body to release the weight of heavy, repressed emotions and begin to rewrite old programs of survival that are no longer needed. You can listen with the intention of falling asleep or with the simple intention of reaching a pleasant state of deep relaxation.

For those new to the art of self-hypnosis, know that how you choose to experience this session is entirely up to you and always within your complete control.

Let’s begin.

Induction

And you can now begin to allow yourself to….slow on down….To really, slow…..down…. Finding any position that feels comfortable for you….And settling in…. And settling on down now…. Breathing deeply, and relaxing completely….Breathing deeply, and relaxing completely now….. Letting go of all the events from the day….from yesterday… from all the days, you carried too much.

Allowing yourself to finally relax.

With each breath, you are giving your nervous system a new message…. A gentle, soothing message that says: “Its safe to relax now… It’s okay to let go.” (Maybe whispered?)

Safe Space

And maybe, as you right here, you begin to sense a SPACE forming… A space that feels just right now…Perhaps it’s a favorite place from your childhood… the arms of someone who always made you feel safe, or a place you’ve never seen before…but your body somehow remembers and creates now.

Soft textures… Warm colors… a gentle hum in the air… Maybe there’s plush pillows, blankets, a fireplace… One thing is for certain; this is a SAFE, healing space that you create with the limitless power of your mind.

Breath deeply and relax completely.

And as you rest here, you may begin to notice, there’s a part of you, a younger part… a quiet presence beneath your exhaustion…your burnout… a child, who remembers how it felt, to be alive…To play without pressure.. To dream without need to earn it.. To love.. without proving anything. And it may be that the conditioning you experienced as a child happened long before you were ever able to experience these things, and that’s completely okay, because healing your inner child isn’t all about going backwards, its about bringing that child forward into the safety of now.

Breath deeply and relax completely.

Mental Reinforcement

And as you continue to relax, deeper and deeper, as you allow your body to melt a further and further into stillness, you may notice a gentle space opening within you…. And from this space, you might begin to form a gentle intention…. Not a demand…not a task….just a gentle invitation to open up to self-compassion, healing, and growth.

And now, I invite you to mentally whisper to all the different parts of your body… inviting them to deeply relax…..
Progressive Relaxation

And with that gentle intention you can start at your feet…. Feeling them held by gravity, and whispering to them, you can rest now…. And feel a soft hum of warmth gathering at the soles of your feet, and moving upppp to your ankles, travelling deep into you calves…. Perhaps you feel a loosening, a light wave of comfort beginning to move throughout your body…. Your knees… your thighs… a soft warmth spreading through them and around them…. Deep into your muscles…Deep into your bones… as tension slipssss away now…. Soft…Safe…Secure….

Now your hips…your pelvis… the seat of your creation and passion… maybe now, finding that its okay to say “you are safe to heal and relax now”.. And notice how it feels when this whole center of you begins to relax…. And now your belly, feel the breath there…. Rising… falling….rising…falling….All tension fading with each breath…And now you can feel your chest loosen, your breath deepen…your heart…opening to receiving a little more and a little more.

And your shoulders… your shoulders that have carried so much, can now relax completely… Feel the weight fall away…fall away… and feel that softness, that release, spread deep into your arms, elbows, hands, and each one of your fingers…. You don’t need to hold anything now… Your neck, jaw, forehead, your entire face, become smooth, relaxed and completely at ease…. From the tips of your toes to the crown of your head… completely relaxed. Completely relaxed now…

And in this peaceful, soothing space you’ve created for yourself—simply by using the quiet power of your mind—you may notice something beautiful… You’re already communicating with your body and nervous system in a deeply meaningful way.

And perhaps now… you gently whisper inwardly:

You are safe.
You can be still.
Thank you for holding me all this time.
You can soften now.

Passive Imagery (Use Imagery from Night 6 – Cathedral – Meeting the Inner Child)

And now… perhaps something begins to form in your awareness. Not something you need to chase or force…just something that arrives gently, in its own time. You might imagine yourself standing at the edge of an old cathedral. It’s quiet… still… partly in ruins, yet filled with something sacred still. Light filters through broken arches, and the air feels soft, touched with memory. It may be that this place once meant something to an earlier part of you… perhaps a place of belief, of longing, of something you once held dear before life became so heavy.

And as you look around, you begin to notice pieces scattered across the stone floor….the remains of a stained-glass window, once whole… now shattered. Still beautiful. You might kneel, if it feels right, and begin gathering the pieces. There’s no rush. Each shard you touch carries something…. a feeling, a color, a memory, or a truth. And as you do this, you may begin to sense the presence of someone beside you. A quiet figure. A younger version of you, perhaps. Barefoot, soft-eyed, and curious. They don’t need to say anything. They simply join you, helping in that silent way you always hoped someone would.

Together, you begin to rebuild. Not the way it was. Not trying to make it perfect. But something new. Something honest. Piece by piece, you follow intuition instead of instruction. And when it feels complete… however it comes together…. you and your younger self gently lift the new window toward the light. And the rising sun, just cresting over the horizon, begins to shine through. What pours out is breathtaking. Colors, brilliant and warm, spill through the glass and onto the stone floor… onto your hands… into your heart. A mosaic of everything you’ve held… and everything you’ve been willing to let go.

And in the center of this glass, you might notice a shape beginning to form. A symbol. One that means something only to you. It could be a phoenix rising from ash… or the strong, reaching branches of a tree… or something else entirely….something your soul understands, even if your mind doesn’t yet. And maybe in that moment, you realize: what was broken was never wasted. That every piece has brought you here. Your younger self may smile now… gently… as if to say, “You’re ready.” And somewhere in the distance, soft and golden, the first light of a new dawn begins to rise.

Autosuggestions for Cathartic Release (Based on Polyvagal theory)

I allow the weight to rise and pass through me… I don’t need to hold it anymore… I can release this now… I can feel it and still be safe… It’s okay to let go… even without understanding everything…

This guilt is not mine to carry forever… I can keep the lesson and release the punishment… I forgive the version of me who didn’t yet know how…

Shame is melting from my body… My worth was never in question… I was never meant to be perfect… only present…

Even my anger has something to teach me… I don’t have to fear my own fire… I can express without destruction… I can soften without surrendering my truth…

Resentment can return to the earth… I free myself from the past… I free others from the roles they played in my pain…

I feel safe enough now… to loosen the grip of fear… I no longer need to control everything to feel secure…

This sadness is allowed to move… It doesn’t have to get stuck… My body knows how to flow, how to grieve, how to recover…

I am learning to trust what I feel… and let it go without judgment…

My nervous system is learning what peace feels like… even after everything…

I am not broken… I am becoming…

I am allowed to live with softness… and power…I can rest without guilt… and dream without apology…

I protect the parts of me that once felt forgotten…My inner child is not my weakness… they are my compass…

I am safe now. I am sovereign now. I remember who I am.

My suffering is not meaningless… it is an invitation to become more fully myself…There is purpose beneath this pain… and I am beginning to feel it rise…

The psyche longs for wholeness… and every moment is guiding me home…I do not need to understand everything… to begin becoming who I’m meant to be…

The child within me holds both the wound… and the map to my return…By listening to my younger self… I am remembering the parts of me I forgot to love…

When I welcome the child, I welcome the soul…This child knows how to feel, how to trust, how to imagine…

I am not healing to become someone else… I am healing to return to who I’ve always been…

The journey inward is not a detour… it is the path itself…Even in my pain, I am being reshaped by meaning…

I trust the symbols, the dreams, the emotions… they are language from within…

Post-hypnotic Suggestions

Each day, I feel lighter and more at peace with who I am becoming…

Even after I wake, the healing continues in ways I don’t have to understand…

My body remembers how to soften… my heart remembers how to open…

I carry the wisdom of my inn er child with me, wherever I go…

More and more, I respond to life from a place of wholeness…

The parts of me that once felt broken now feel witnessed, understood, and restored…

When challenges arise, I return to my center with trust and compassion…

The meaning I seek is already unfolding within me…

I honor what I’ve survived… and I carry that strength into everything I do…

The path of healing continues even in stillness… even in sleep…

And now…you may simply allow all of these positive suggestions to settle deep into your psyche….Perhaps enjoying how there’s nothing more you need to do….Only the quiet knowing, that a deep, sacred part of you is healing.

And whether you choose to drift off into a deep, nourishing sleep…or gently return to the waking world in your own time…this healing WILL continue in the background of your being…Because you’ve already said yes to the child within you that is ready for growth. So, rest now…or rise slowly…the choice is always yours.
